The children of Shanti Bhavan have been studying hard, but as the holiday season approached they are making sure to have good fun too!
The holiday festivities began with a spooky Halloween haunted house. The 8th to 12th graders dressed up in fantastic costumes to go trick-or-treating at the residences of our teachers and volunteers, and the night ended with our children and staff swapping sweets and ghost stories. It was certainly a treat for everyone at Shanti Bhavan!
Diwali, the festival of lights, gave us the chance to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. In addition to the lighting of sparklers and candles, our children were inspired to excel even more in their end-of-year exams.
And to close the year with a bang, our 11th grade students planned a festive Christmas celebration, full of entertainment, games and well wishes from Santa Claus himself. The staff and children send their love and joy to you this holiday season.
As the year comes to an end, all of us – children and staff – look forward to an exciting 2017. We hope you will join us!
