AN IMPORTANT LESSON OUR CHILDREN TEACH THE STAFF EVERY DAY
Our children come from enormous hardships, and strive for a better life for themselves and their families. They have faced prejudice and discrimination, poverty and deprivation, yet they hold their heads high. Theirs is a lesson in dignity, and how real dignity has nothing to do with wealth or class, education or career, race or gender.
This was the lesson our Director of Operations, Ajit George, took with him to the College of William & Mary where he was a featured speaker for the university’s annual TEDx event. Ajit discusses the challenges he faced holding onto his own dignity during times of crisis, and how the children of Shanti Bhavan helped show him the way. It’s a touching, personal tribute to living a happier life, and helping others do the same.
