Child of the Week: Meena Gopi

From: Bangalore

Family Background: My father is a tour guide and my mom is a housewife. My brother goes to school. My father loves his job but he is tired after taking people on tours for three days or more.

Overcoming Challenges: When school was ending and the final exams were nearing I became very sick. After I recovered, I didn’t know what I was going to do. I thought I was going to fail in my exams. There was only a week left for my exams. With my helpful classmates and patient teachers, I did well on my exams. I thanked my classmates who supported me that semester. Recovering from an illness and writing exams was one of the challenges I overcame last year.

Hobbies: I like to hang out with my friends. I like to ride bikes. I also like to read books during my free time. My favorite series is the Twilight series. I love listening to the American top-forty music.

Favorite Memory at Shanti Bhavan: Last year’s Christmas party at Shanti Bhavan is my favorite memory. It is my favorite memory because I had lots of fun with my best friends. Everyone danced and laughed and I had a very good time. My mid-term ended with the Christmas party when all of my friends were crying with joy.

Future Goals: My future goals are to do well on my board exams. I want to become a software engineer when I grow up. I want to become a software engineer because I’m interested in computers and I really like programming.
